To prepare the fried onion: In a pot over medium heat, add oil and fry the sliced onion until golden.

To prepare the chicken marinade: In a food processor, blend ginger powder, salt, turmeric, black pepper, cumin, curry, cinnamon stick, bay leaves, garlic, cardamom, cloves, yogurt, and fried onion.

Coat the chicken with the prepared marinade and let it marinate for at least 6 hours.

In a pot over medium heat, use the fried onion oil, then sear the chicken and potato cubes for 2 minutes.
